This is a sample on how to write a custom open/save dialog. It demonstrates the ways:
  • Using a RC file for the Dialog
  • Adding custom controls (Panel, StatusBar);
  • Resizing (even on Win95) and aligning controls;
  • Controling messages: Example on how to find out the current selected item and decide if it is a Folder or a File.

Description

This is a custom Open and Save Dialog components: TAdvOpenDialog, TAdvSaveDialog.

Feature List:

  • ViewStyle - Set the dialog listview view-style (vsIcon, vsSmallIcons etc.)
  • ForceViewStyle - use the above ViewStyle (otherwise keep the default ("normal") setting)
  • ForceHideExtenstion - Hides the files extensions (even if shown in the explorer!) very cool but slow.
  • AddWidth, AddHeight - Add extra width and height to the normal dialog size.
  • Selected (read only string) contains the current selected item (file or folder).
  • Path (read only string) contains the current folder.
  • StatusBar (public) by default it display the number of objects in the current folder and the selected item type.
  • Event for using custom statusbar texts. it receives the selected item subItems so you can decide what to display.
