Minimum System Requirements

Windows NT 4.x, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, Windows Vista Home/Business/Ultimate Editions (32 bit)
Pentium 3 or AMD Athlon 1 GHZ or greater
192 MB RAM
10 MB disk space

Installation

To install the demo version of TracePlus/Win32, unzip these files to a temporary directory and select "Run..." from the "Start" menu of the Windows Explorer. Then type:

[drive letter]:\[download directory]\setup.exe

Remember to replace the words "drive letter" and "download directory" with the appropriate locations on your computer where you unzipped the .ZIP file. Press Ok or <ENTER> to setup TracePlus/Win32.

Capturing SQL Statements using ADO.NET with TracePlus

In order to capture SQL statements from an application that uses ADO.NET, the application must be accessing a data source using the ODBC .NET data provider.

Capturing SQL Statements using ActiveX Data Objects with TracePlus

In order to capture SQL statements from an application that uses ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), the application must be accessing a data source via the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC.

Capturing SQL Statements using OLE DB with TracePlus

In order to capture SQL statements from an application that uses the OLE DB COM-based interfaces, the application must be accessing a data source via the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC.

Capturing SQL Statements from a Java application using JDBC with TracePlus

In order to capture SQL statements from a Java application that is using the JDBC API, the application must be accessing the data source using what is known as a JDBC-ODBC Bridge.

An example of a JDBC-ODBC Bridge is the EasySoft JDBC-ODBC Bridge.

General Notes

  • The capture buffer size is limited to storing up to 1024 packets.
  • The History View will be disabled after 10 minutes of use.
  • The other statistics views will display full statistics for the first 20 rows in the view.
